FAQ I’ve already printed RackMod 1U.

Do I need to reprint everything to use RackMod 1U Slide?

No, RackMod 1U and RackMod 1U Slide are fully compatible with each other.

You only need to print one of the three main parts to get started with RackMod 1U Slide.

Is RackMod 1U Slide the same size?

Yes, RackMod 1U Slide is using the same size modules but instead slides the modules in from the front.

This makes it so minimal changes to a module can make it work with both RackMod 1U & 1U Slide.

How long does it take to print?

Each main part takes approximately 2 hours and uses around 80–85g of filament.

Modules vary depending on the design but typically take 1–3 hours to print.

Will more modules be added?

Absolutely!

Many more modules are planned for the future.

I need a custom module for a device.

What should I do?

You can use the Blank Module as a template to design a custom module for your device. ing, try reaching out on forums—someone in the community might be able to help.

Alternatively, leave a comment here with the details, and I’ll consider adding it to my list of future modules.

What filament should I use?

I’ve been using BambuLab’s Basic Matte PLA, and the results have been fantastic.

It’s made out of plastic—will it hold?

From my testing, I haven’t encountered any issues with breakage.

However, keep in mind that since it’s a 3D print, it may not support very heavy devices.

Will RackMod 1U continue to receive new modules now that RackMod 1U Slide is released?

Yes!

I’ll be creating modules for both RackMod 1U and RackMod 1U Slide, as each design has its own strengths and use cases.
