This holder is intended to be used as a replacement for the original spool holder or as an added option.
It can be mounted to any IKEA Skadis board.
Compared to the original holder it accomodates spools ranging from 250g to 1kg or more if the spool is no wider than 78mm.
Amazon Basics spools will fit.
The holder is printed in two parts to maximize strength and minimize friction between the holder and the spool.
The assembly of the part is dead simple, just slide the low friction sleeve over the holder until it snaps into place.
This can be done from the front or the top.

Depending on the material used for the print, you might want to add some glue between the holder and the sleeve.
For a permanent installation I recommend using my IKEA Lock Plug to further secure the holder.
I use the holder in connection with my P1P that I semi-enclosed with IKEA Skadis boards.
